Abstract:
This study aims at revealing the Islamic law behind taking photos to dead and injured people and showing them to the public in the different kinds of the media. My paper is divided into two sections where I began by explicitly mentioning the historic development of taking photos beginning by its effects on the authenticity of the news and facts so that some people do not trust news which do not include photos. While the first part shed light on the definition of photography and its rule in the Islamic FIqh, in the second section I introduced the opinions of the Islamic scholars regarding photography, which is the most essential part of my study, Then I concluded the most acceptable opinion concerning photography. The second part, which is also the last, contains five sections where I started in defining who the dead and the wounded are, then I discussed the connection between taking photo to the dead and wounded and mutilation. Only in the fourth and fifth sections did I present the advantages and disadvantages of taking photos by giving evidence for each. In conclusion, I offered the results and my recommendations as well as the references to my study.
