Abstract:
The thesis of one state solution and the impact of this on the peace process (the possibility and challenges), is to study the possibility of bulling up peace process from the dilemma it faces today, to such an extent that many people say it is not existing now. The reason of the thesis is to discuss the model of one state solution and to study the possibility of having alternatives to achieve peace between the Palestinians and the Israelis on the basis of one state solution by studying the possibilities which this solution offers; either by its acceptance from both sides, or by the solutions this model will give to overcome the obstacles the two states solution didn’t succeed to find.
The thesis asked a central main question. Is the model of one state solution capable to find answers to issues that the model of two states solution didn’t find such as the refugees, the borders, the settlement, and Jerusalem?
The thesis used the analytical diagnoses method such as describing the case which the policies and theories belong to the two states solution. Then, the thesis describes the one state solution such as its forms, its kinds. Then the thesis began analyzing the reasons, justifications and obstacles face the one state solution.
After that the thesis discussed the main obstacles that the two state solution created, and the ability of the one state model could find solutions for.
Then the thesis reached many conclusions, one of the most of them, is that even though the one state solution is the most realistic one, but Israel is not ready for any solution. Israel wants neither the one state solution, nor the two states solution. Israel wants negotiations just for negotiations without any commitments; just to gain time; to continue building settlements, expansion and controlling the Palestinian land to keep the situation status quo to strengthen occupation.
According to this, we have to go back to study the title of two states solution more deeply and clearly from all political sides connected to this title which leads to the conclusion that the independent Palestinian state has no place; Israel doesn’t like to withdraw from all territories of West Bank and East Jerusalem
Israel refuses to talk about the right of return of Palestinians, due to the reasons that Israel considers this will destroy the project of Jewish state which Israel tries to imply.
The dynamic developments in the Israeli community, especially the high rise of the right, religious and national forces, prevents Israel from looking on real solutions, but it goes towards enforcing occupation more than finding political solutions for the conflict.
The thesis says that in spite of Israeli obstacles, the Palestinian political division between movement of Fateh and Hamas doest help any possibility for a solution to the Palestinian issue in the near future.
The thesis concludes many recommendations, most important of them are:
The Palestinian Authority has to declare clearly the failure of Palestinian Israeli negotiations as Israel denies and doesn’t recognize all the previous agreements which signed by both of them under international umbrella due to international and American unlimited support to the Israeli policies, against the legitimate right of the Palestinians to have their own independent state.
All political parties, movements and NGOs have to work on putting an end to the division between Fateh and Hamas, by an agreement on national strategy and a comprehensive program capable to face challenges imposed by Israel on ground.
To work on isolating all forces and individuals who are benefited from division between West Bank and Gaza, to develop a unified, comprehensive Palestinian strategy leads to unified political speech concludes to national program with objectives and tools impose creative political theories to refute the Zionist project with its hostile implications to enable the Palestinian people to build their state on expectation of political, social and economical developments, to insure the strategy of construction, political, economical, technological and cultural development. To put Arabic and Islamic nations on their historical, ethical and religious responsibilities in Palestine.
To stop all forms of normalization with Zionist enemy who doesn’t respect his promises protocols or agreements
