Abstract:
This study aims at identifying the the M.A Thesis in Educational Science Faculty quality and the obstacles facing the students from supervisors' and students' prospective at the Palestinian universities (An-Najah National University, Beer Zeet University and Al-Quds University ) . Also, it aims at identifying some study variables like ( gender, work status, place of residence , university and specialization). For achieving the study purpose, descriptive , analytical method has been used by quantity and quality tools including the use of interview consists of eight questions distributed among fourteen supervisors and a questionnaire consists of four domains; academic, administrative, economical and psychological obstacles , and 49 items has been developed, distributed among the study sample of(182) students out of (513) students which are the study community . The rate of return was (35% ) . The returned questionnaires have been gathered, codified, entered the computer and statically processed by using the Statistical Package of the Social Science (SPSS) The results of the interview tool showed high coincidence among the responses of the tested individual who confirmed that the thesis do not reach the quality level , don't contribute in the society development , lack of flexibility . Also, the confirmed that the most important obstacles were in title choosing, the difficulty of reaching the references and resources in addition to the student's weakness in the research fields such as statistical analyses . The results of the questionnaire showed a very high response on the third domains(the economical obstacles) . On the other hand, high degree were appeared on the first one (academic obstacles ) and medium degree on the second and fourth domains ( administrative and psychological obstacles) . The results show high degree of response on the main study question which is " what are the obstacles facing the the high study students at the Palestinian Universities ?" . Also, the study results showed that there are significant differences at (α=0.05) level among the responses means about range of the quality M.A Thesis in Educational Science Faculty quality and the obstacles facing the students from supervisors' and students' prospective at the Palestinian universities in the second, fourth domains and the total degree due to the variables of gender for the females while there are significant differences in the first domain (academic obstacles) due to the variables of university and specialization . These differences are for An-Najah National University and for the specialization of educational administration. On the contrary, there are no significant differences at ( α=0.05) level among the responses means about range of the quality M.A Thesis in Educational Science Faculty and the obstacles facing the students from supervisors' and students' prospective at the Palestinian universities due to the variables of work status and place of residence . According to the study results, several recommendations have been suggested , included the conducting sessions and workshops in order to agree between the supervisors of different universities on the quality criteria for M.A thesis and increasing courses aiming at preparing students for M.A thesis .
