The Joy in Holy Qur'an Thematic Study

This dissertation, which is entitled as “Joy: A Qur’anic Thematic Study", is regarded as a step following Qur'anic studies which don’t end. It introduces a theme called (joy) as mentioned in the Holy Qur'an. Moreover, it includes a full research about everything related to the sense of joy, namely: its multiplicity of meanings and its synonyms in the Holy Qur’an. This study shows that there are two main types joy, namely: the commendable and abhorred. The latter includes the joy of the mortal life and the joy of the disbelievers and hypocrites while the former includes the joy of the victorious moments of God’s triumph, the joy of the blessing of Islam and the blessing of having the holy Qur’an, and the joy of the martyrs who are blessed with martyrdom. It highlights the causes of the abhorred joy and its treatment. It also highlights applicable examples of joy in the Holy Qur’an by showing its stories.
