Abstract: 
This study aims at investigating the impact of using authentic assessment on ninth grade students' achievement and their attitudes towards science in Nablus governorate schools, A random clustered sample was selected and consisted of 102 students from ninth grade in Nablus governorate schools, the sample was divided into two groups (experimental and control), the experimental group were evaluated by using authentic assessment techniques , and consisted of 52 from both gender ,while the control group were evaluated by using traditional techniques, and consisted of 50 from both gender . Relevant instruments were designed and conducted for the purpose of collecting data, These instruments were an achievement test, a rubric list, and a questionnaire to measure students' attitudes towards science . The results revealed that , there is a statistically significant difference in the average of the ninth grade achievement test for both experimental group and control group in favor of using the authentic assessment techniques. However the results revealed that there is no statistically significant difference in the average of the ninth grade achievement test for both experimental group and control due to gender, there were also no statistically significant difference in the students attitudes towards science , and There is no statistically significant difference in the students attitudes towards Science due tom the gender . There for, in the light of the study results ,the researcher recommended use of the authentic assessment to evaluate students in anther materials
