Abstract:
In my research، I deal with what is repeated of sayings، proverbs، songs and popular lyrics ; besides stories، tales and narrations which people exchange among others in the harvest season and all of its characteristics such as harvest، piling، gathering the wheat on the back of camels and take it to the threshing floor to be grinned and cleaned by airing and what is going along with this work like making freekeh and qaleyeh in addition to geresha to make porridge which was known on the meals of peasants and in parties and marrying occasions. Seeing women as they circle around the piles of wheat straws while choosing the best to make trays and berth (Gurehs) and hand-fans as they sit together talking about day life matters since there was neither radio nor television at that time. For harvesting، the men and women stand in row against the wheat in a shape that they know ; their commander stood from the side of the wheat and decide what must be harvested، this man is called Al-shaqook، He is responsible of all other workers concerning the quantity of what must be harvested and the time of harvest and the break-time ; at the end of the row in the other side the less experience and activity and usually women stood in the other side. During the harvest time، the wheat became on shape of piles distributed on the surface of the ground until it becomes dry to be removed to the their floor on the back of camels horses and donkeys. Then gathering the wheat in the early morning when deur still cover the plants in order not to break into small parts and change into broken spikes and fall into the ground ; women usually carry the piles of wheat (kittah) on their heads to put on the big pile (Hillah) which is called apparel. Kittah is connected by rope to join all immersion (Ghemmers) together and form Hillah- which is a big pile of straws in the field in order to take it to the threshing floor، and usually the threshing floor is near the houses and rarely wheat is to be ground in the field itself where a place of threshing field is prepared – for this mission. In every stage of gathering the crops، there are sayings، proverbs، poetry، stories، and tales give one purpose amusing the farmer and entertaining him and lessen the their effort of work and ease the tired work ; songs are expressions which farmers do during work and so farmer addresses the machine which he uses and it is the faithful friend while addressing the machete، board، Nawraj، Daqran، Pitchfork، Sieve، Cirbeleh and Misrad، and addresses the Mill and Baydar and the wheat ears and sticks and addresses Hay and algosl and addresses the wheat fruit such as Fareekeh، Qaliyeh and Porridge and addresses the Burgul، and stringy (Maftool) ; all there the farmer addresses and sing it. The work of the farmer doesn’t limit to the wheat work only، but there is another season which farmers prepare to it، it is the season of gathering the olives، this warning party make all members of the family happy, especially the children because they get benefit of this season directly، sweets fill their pockets and delicions things، they buy what they can’t do in different times، because the season of olive is good time in general for all people rich and poor، and you see the village as a cell of bees who goes out and comes in and to and all of them working in gathering olives crops. This work is not free of effort and tine and pay activity and all what spirit needs to help against time and effort by saying proverbs and sayings، songs and poetry، tales and stories، Anecdotes and Jokes these are in general represent the oral popular literature conveyed through generations and the last generation handle to the next one all what they heard, comprelnd and mentioned, and so this literature still from generation to another and still alive in minds of people and watt on their tongues and their speech on their nights, happiness and meting.
