Abstract: 
This study aimed at evaluating (Lughatuna Aljameila) textbook for sixth graders from teacher’s perspective in the governmental schools at Salfeet district in the academic year 2002/2003. This study tried to investigate teachers’ evaluations (males and females) for this new textbook which is being taught in the Palestinian school, also throughout the teachers evaluation for the following six domains: (Textbook objective, Content, Presentation Method, Evaluative questions, Graphic layout, Instructional aides and Activities, that to investigate positive points and its reinforcement, weak points and the ways of its treatment. The study tried to achieve its’ aim through answering the following questions: 1. What is the reality of (Lughatuna Aljameila) textbook for sixth graders from teachers’ perspective in the governmental schools at Salfeet district? 2. What is the reality of educational objectives in (Lughatuna Aljameila) textbook for sixth graders from teachers’ perspective in the governmental schools at Salfeet district? 3. What is the reality of content in (Lughatuna Aljameila) textbook for sixth graders from teachers’ perspective in the governmental schools at Salfeet district? 4. What is the reality of presentation methods in (Lughatuna Aljameila) textbook for sixth graders from teachers’ perspective in the governmental schools at Salfeet district? 5. What is the reality of graphic layout in (Lughatuna Aljameila) textbook for sixth graders from teachers’ perspective in the governmental schools at Salfeet district? 6. What is the reality of instructional aides and activities in (Lughatuna Aljameila) textbook for sixth graders from teachers’ perspective in the governmental schools at Salfeet district? 7. What is the reality of evaluative questions in (Lughatuna Aljameila) textbook for sixth graders from teachers’ perspective in the governmental schools at Salfeet district? To investigate the aims of this study and to answer questions the researcher used a questionnaire consists of (81) items distributed among (6) domains: (textbook objectives (9) items, content (22) items, presentation method (13) items, evaluative questions (17) items, graphic layout (11) items and instructional aides and activities (9) items. To ensure of questionnaire validity, it was given to number of jury consist of (14) members. In order to ensure of questionnaire reliability Cronbach Alpha formula was used and the reliability coefficient was (0.97). The sample of the study comprised of (33) Arabic Language teachers (males and females) for sixth graders at Salfeet district in the academic year 2002/2003. They were (15) males and (18) females distributed among 27 schools. The sample formed 100% of the study population. Basic descriptive statistical, means and percentages were used to calculate teachers’ estimations for each domain. The findings of the study were as follow: 1. The total of teachers’ evaluations for (Lughatuna Al jameila) textbook for sixth graders were strong and high and it was (4.14) with percentage 82.8%. This indicates that the textbook is highly acceptable and it is suitable for sixth graders from teachers’ perspective. 2. Teachers’ evaluations revealed that (graphic layout domain) get the first level between others and the mean was (4.5) with percentage 90%, (Objectives domain) got the second level with mean (4.35) and its percentage 87%. (Content domain) got the third level with high evaluation and the mean was 4.09 and its percentage was 81.8%. Presentation method was on the fourth level with mean (4.07) and its percentage was 81.4% followed with (evaluative questions domain) on the fifth level with mean (3.99) and its percentage was 79.8%. Instructional aides and activities was in the sixth level and its mean percentages were (3.89), 76.4% respectively. The study revealed positive points in this textbook (Lughatuna Aljameila)(our beautiful language) such as: - Clear objectives and its agreement with Palestinian Curriculum Plan. - Strengthen student’s faith toward his country. - The objectives based on three main domains (cognitive, psychomotor and affective objectives). - Documenting says and texts. - The textbook will enrich students’ language discourse. - No spelling mistakes. - The textbook is adequate for sixth graders in terms of shape, graphic layout. In the light of study results the researcher recommended of the following: - Providing the book with comprehensive evaluative questions. - Increasing the number of syntax sentences and examples. - Objectives should be adequate for individual differences. - Textbook material should be suitable with the determined classes. - Textbook units for the first semester should be less than that in the second semester in order to suit time distribution for both semesters. - Each unit should be finished with a summary. - Instructional activities should be adequate with school abilities.
