Abstract:
The study aimed to compare the teaching (The circle unit) by using GeoGebra program and Instructional Aids and the traditional way of teaching based on achievement of ninth grade students in Nablus schools. The study tried specifically to answer the question: What's the effect of using GeoGebra program and Instructional Aids on direct and the retention on the achievement of students of ninth grade in the unit of circle in math book? To answer the study's question and test the hypothesis, the study was conduct the question experemental approach which means the population of this research were all the ninth grade students in Nablus, they were about (3807), and the sample was applied on(188) students from Al-kendy Secondary Boys School, Bait Dajan Secondary Boys School and Bait Dajan Secondary Girls School. The sample was divided into two groups' the treatment group and the compared group. The treatment group had studied the circle unit in the math book in the ninth grade by using the teaching methods. While the compared group had studied the unit by using the traditional approach of teaching in the first semester 2012\2013. The researcher applied this tool of study: - A pre-Test to measure the equivalence between the two groups (the treament and the compared control). The consistency and the certainty have been verified by using the Kuder-Richardson 21. The value was (0.74). - A direct Test to measure the achievement of the students at the studying the circle unite. And the consistency and the certainty were calculated by Kuder-Richardson21 formula; the value was (0.83). - Retention test To measure the achievement of the students after ten days of studying the circle unite to know the affect average of teaching. The certainty has been verified and the consistency has been calculated by using Kuder-Richardon formula 21. The value was (0.85), and the data were analyzed using the T-test for the two independent groups ,T-test for Paired groups. To study the hypothesis the data were analyzed by using SPSS. The result of the study: 1-Ther is significant statistical difference between the average grades of ninth students who used GeoGebra program and the instructional aids to learn the circle unit and the average grade of ninth students who used and the traditional way to learn the circle unite based on the achievement of the post-test.the result were in favor to the treatment group; the average of the treatment group was higher than the average of the compared group. 2- There is a significant statistical difference (α=0.05) between the average grade of students of ninth grade who were thought the circle unit by using GeoGebra program and the instructional aids (the treatment group), and the compared group who were thought the circle unite by using the traditional way of teaching based on direct achievement. The result was in favor to the treatment group. 3- There is a significant statistical difference(α=0.05) between the average grade of students of ninth grade who were thought the circle unit by using GeoGebra program and the instructional aids (the treatment group), and the compared group who were thought the circle unit by using the traditional way of teaching based on retention achievement.the result were in favor to the treatment group. 4-There is a significant statistical difference (α=0.05) between the average grade of students of ninth grade who were thought the circle unit by usingGeoGebra program and the instructional aides (the experimental group) based on retention test and direct test. The results were in favor to the retention test. 5-There is a significant spastically (α=0.05) between the average grade of students of ninth grade of students of ninth grade who were thought the circle unite by using the traditional way (control group) based on retention test and direct test. The results were in favor to the direct test. The recommendation: On the basis of the result, the researcher placed several recommendations: 1-To get benefit from the result of the research, it appears the effect (Geogebra) program on the student's achievement. 2- To do studies to show the affect of Geogebra program on the student and the teacher or in another educational scheme on connection to mathematic curriculum because it has appositive benefit to support the culture of using computer in teaching in general and in using the computer in teaching math especially. 3- The necessity of do certification to math teacher to teach them how to use Geogebra program to teach math because it support the math curriculum.
