The Effect of 25 January Egyptian Revolution of Palestinian Cause

This study attempted to answer the question regarding the extent of the impact that the January 25th revolution in Egypt had brought upon the Palestinian cause during the period from the beginning of the revolution until 30/5/2013. The researcher has laid down a hypothesis that is based on the claim that the January 25th revolution in Egypt, had a positive and supportive impact on the Palestinian cause in its internal issues such as reconciliation file, the siege case on Gaza, and the detainees exchange issue. In addition to the impact towards the Palestinian resistance movements, and towards the rejection of aggressive Zionist attack on Gaza and cooling relations with him. It is have been clear through the study that there is an obvious impact of the Egyptian revolution on some of the Palestinian internal issues such as the siege case on Gaza which has been alleviated, in addition to the detainees exchange issue which has been successfully accomplished through the latest swap deal. However, the Egyptian revolution did not have results in the reconciliation file, though it succeeded in signing the reconciliation document between the two main parties involved, as well as organizing a series of meetings between the two. In the context of the study, the researcher addressed the change that the revolution has caused in the higher leadership in the Egyptian state which has been assumed by Mohammad Morsi, the former Chairman of the Freedom and Justice Party, the political part of the Muslim Brotherhood Movement, in addition to the stances that the new leadership has adopted regarding the Israeli occupation and its latest war on Gaza in 2012 which had a major impact to end the Zionist aggression. The new stances of the new Egyptian leadership toward the Palestinian cause and their conformity with the Islamic reference of the Movement have all been studied. The study has shown some difference like admission by Egyptian president of Zionist occupation and dealing with him. Moreover, the future expectations of the elected Egyptian regime after the revolution, regarding the different issues related to the Palestinian case have also been discussed, in addition to the relationship with the Zionist occupation in light of the many internal challenges and crises that are occurring in Egypt, and in the context of a changing Arab and regional atmosphere due to the Arab revolutions. The summary of these expectations is the continuing of elected Egyptian regime leaded by Islamic current in supporting the Palestinian case. On the other hand more cooling and reducing of the relationship with the Zionist occupation. The study concluded that January 25th revolution in Egypt has appositive impact to Palestinian cause. The study mentions a number of recommendations in light of the results it has been able to bring about. The researcher hopes that this study would contribute to the provision of proposals that would receive acceptance and interest from those who care about the Palestinian cause in general, from the leaders in the new Brotherhood leaderships in Egypt, as well as from the leadership and parties of the Palestinian people in particular.
