The Degree of Practicing of Educational Supervisors' Leadership Styles and its Relationship to Teachers' Professional Development in Public Schools in Northern West Bank Governorates From Teachers Point of Views

Abstract: 
The current study aimed to identify the degree of practicing of educational supervisors' leadership styles and its relationship to teachers' professional development in public schools in northern West Bank governorates from teacher’s point of views, and to identify the role of the study variables. The researcher followed the descriptive and analytical approach, the researcher selected a stratified random sample represented a number of public school teachers in the provinces of the northern West Bank in Palestine, where the distribution of the questionnaire consisting of 109 paragraphs of the six areas of the public (2014-2015) semester second, reached the study population (12,466) teachers, were distributed (500) to identify and retrieve (421) questionnaire The results of the study showed that the total score of leadership styles a moderate averaged of (3.05). Moreover, the field of democratic style has ranked in the first place, where a high average of response rate reached (3.55) followed by free style with a moderate responsive style (2.77), then dictatorial style with a moderate rate of (2.72). The study results showed that the total degree of professional development among public schools teachers in governorates of the Northern West Bank in Palestine averaged (3.44) and a high response rate. also, the field of training and qualifying averaged (3.46) followed by evaluation domain with an high average of (3.44) and the curruclumen and teaching methods with a high average of (3.43). Due to the study results there were a positive correlation statistically significant relationship at the significance level (α = 0.05) between the leadership styles and professional development among teachers of public schools in the governorates of the northern West Bank in Palestine patterns, as the value of the correlation coefficient was (0.364). Based on the results of the study, there are the following recommendations: 1. To promote human relations between the teacher and educational administrator, such as participation of the educational supervisor at social events. 2. To build a positive educational atmosphere trust and mutual respect between the teacher and the educational supervisor, and the educational supervisor depends objective methods in the exercise of supervisory roles.
