Abstract:
The researcher prepared her study in five chapters and in the first of which she talked in general about morals in Islam as an introduction to the virtue of modesty. In this chapter, the researcher explained the importance and value of morals in Islam in addition to their major characteristics; she also mentioned the means by which morals are acquired. In the second chapter the researcher discussed the virtue of modesty in particular, its meaning, the difference between modesty and shyness, the different parts of modesty which include modesty towards God, people and the Angels. In the third chapter the researcher explained the importance of modesty and its impacts, as well as the methods used to nurture this virtue in people. In the fourth chapter, the researcher talked about the modesty and shyness of women in the Holy Quran and Sunnah. In the final chapter the researcher gave examples of modesty of Prophet Mohammad, Peace be Upon Him, in addition to his companions and followers.
