Abstract:
The aim of this study was to identify the teacher¬s opinion in the Government schools of Nablus Governerate about students Knowledge, Morals and skills in regard to human rights through their answers to the following question. How much do students know about human Rights and tolerance ? Four other sub-questions stemmed from the above major question with four hypotheses that are related to the variables of gender, specialization ,experience and location of school. The sample of the study consisted of (63) male teachers and (89) female teachers who teach 11+12 Graders during the scholastic year 2007/2008 . The questionnaire used as the instrument of the study consisted of 54 items distributed to cover students knowledge, morals and skills of human rights regarding the reliability of the instrument used, it was assured through having it referd to eight of the specialists in this field ,the validity of the instruments was also tested through alpha cronbac test which reached (92.7%). The researcher enhanced means, percentages? Test, one-way ANOVA , and Schefee post hoc test to answer the questions of the study and to test hypotheses . The researcher concludes the following:
1- The mean of the total degree of the three aspects reached (3.24) out of (5.00) with percentages of 64.80%) the highest of which is the moral aspect, then the skill aspect, and then the Knowledge aspect.
2- There are no significant differences at (α=0.05) in regard to variables of sex and specialization; and of experience variable in aspect to Knowledge domain.
3- There are Significant diggerences at (α=0.05) in regard to experience in the two domains of morals and skill with an advantage to experience (5-10) years, and also in regard to location of school in advantage to village . Finally , the researcher recommends the following :
1- Analyzing textbook under the supervision of human rights specialized committee that have the authority to delete all negative concepts and reinforce positive ones .
2- Designing human rights textbooks in order to be tought fot Tawjihi Graders
3- Investing ahuman rights specialization in universities leading to a B.A degree .
4- Coordination between schools, principles and human rights organization. Carrying out more researchers and studies in this field.
