Abstract:
In this study, the scholar approched the poems which the Palestinian poet, Sameeh Al-qassem, omitted from those he wrote in the sixties and seventies of the previous century due to the changes of international political circumstances that affected him and his poetry. After the collapse of the Soviet Union, the poet omitted the poem that he wrote in prais of the Soshalist Revolution depending on the factional policy of the communistic faction in Palestine occupied in 1948. This happened when the poet puplished his "complet works" in 1991. Many of his collection experienced omission which affectedhis poetry. This Thing drew the attention of professor, A'del Al-ostah, who ivdicted it. The nature of this research made me use the different reasons which contained the poetry of "Al-Qassem" because each of them contains sings and evidences different from the other. For example, there are differences between the "complete works" published by" Dar El-Huda"in 1990 and that published by "Dar Al-A'wdah" in 2004.In the same way, these two publications are different from the collection of Sameeh Al-Qassem published by " Dar Al-A'wdah" in 1973 which did not contain any poem from"Mawakeb Al-shams".Such differences are more clear in the two publications of "Aghani Al-Dorub.The first was published in 1964 by the" Pupular library"(Al-Maktaba Al-Shabyya) at Nesereth. It contains indications to the pages were omitted by the Israeli censorship. The second publication which published by "Dar- Al-A'wdah" in Beirut is not acopy of the first one. This difference could be aresult of the Israeli censorship. So, I will always indicate the publisher or the year of publishing to distinguish between different publication to avoid mistakes and misunderstanding. This study comes under constitutional critique wgich deals with the effects aused by different changes and drawn on the literary text, and it indicates the reasons for these changes. This study is important because it highlights the wgole poetical experience and shows thechanges attended the poet's course of omitting these poems. It also aims to find the reasons of omitting these poems. It also aims to study these poems to olarify their aesthetical, ideological and political values in different stages of the Palestinian literary movement. I divided this study into three chapters. The first chapter deals with omission in Palestinian poetry and indicates three bodies who participated in forming this pbenomenon and they are: 1)The Israeli Occupation and its role in forced Omission. 2)Arab scholars who deleted what was aginst their ideological wishes and political stand. 3)The poets themselves who deleted things for different reasons. In this chapter I presented some aspects of omission in the Palestinian poetry. How ever in stead of presenting these aspects which were clearing shown in Al- Qassem's poetry, I only presented those were omitted by the poet himself because I couldn’t reach what was omitted by the Israeli military censorship and what was omitted Arab scholars didn’t affect the Palestinian literary movement in the occupied territory.Thw effect was presented in the fact that the omitted poetry was made inaccessible to Arab scholars and readers abroad. I also mentioned the omitted poems and the different factors that made the poet omit them. I found it was proper to finish this chapter by examining the changes happened to the poet and his attitude of poetry in such away that help highlight the whole phenomenon of omission, the way it was done and its affect on the substance. , In the second chapter of this research, I examined the omitted poems and showed their different meanings. I found that those poems were among the combatant poetry with its patriotic, humane and nationalisti meanings. I also mentioned some love poems which the poet omitted from" Agahani Al-Dorub". In the third chapter deals with omitted texts which were examined aesthetically. It also examines traditional artistical construction and other aesthetical and artistical aspects such as artistical picture, rhymes and recurrence. Finally,I would like to say that this research is avery simple addition to the Arabic studies of literary and critique in Palestine. Idont claim that I reached the true fact although I did my best.
