Abstract:
This study represents cases of the life of the prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) in which he praised and prayed God for the good of some people and groups asking for their mercy, and those cases in which he cursed those who committed atrocities and disobeyed the teachings of God. The researcher adopted an inductive method in collecting various Hadiths from Muslim and Bukhari books of Hadith. Additionally, the researcher followed the analytical method to understand the meaning of each Hadith. The dissertation is divided into an introduction, four chapters and a conclusion. Chapter One defines the word Dua'a, and points out its importance and how the Caliphs and followers of the prophet (pbuh) sought his prayers for them. Chapter Two is a representation of the people, groups and tribes whom the prophet (pbuh) prayed for and asked God to have mercy on them. Chapter Three is a representation of those whom the prophet (pbuh)cursed in their life and in the afterlife for their ill doings. Chapter Four deals with various Hadiths to differ between the hadith which is considered a prayer or curse and the hadith which is a normal hadith and may include a teaching of Islam. In the Conclusion, the researcher includes the results of the study. He carries out a comparison between those whom the prophet (pbuh) prayed for and those whom he cursed.
