Abstract
In his study, the researcher started by defining the word heart in language and dictionary as well as within the Quranic context in the first chapter. In the second chapter, the researcher talked about the importance of the heart in the life of a human being; it is the most significant of all organs and whenever the heart is healthy and pure the rest of the body will be likewise. The researcher also described the characteristics of the heart and its functions in the human body.
In the third chapter the researcher talked about the pure and healthy heart, its characteristics such as piety. After that, the researcher described the reasons that make one’s heart pure and good such as knowledge and its impact on the heart saying that science and knowledge are major sources for heart purification and treatment. She also explained the importance of Thikr (Mentioning Allah) and meditation about the creation of the skies and earth.
In the fourth chapter, the researcher talked about the sick heart and described some of its characteristics such as cruelty, unkindness and amusement. She also talked about the reasons that lead some people to develop sick and impure heart and explained that sins play a major role in heart corruption.
