Abstract:
This study is entitled " Compulsory Stop and Connection in the Holy Quran" is a statistical connotative grammatical study. The researcher investigated the places of compulsory stop and connection in the Holy Quran in four varied editions. She put forward a cause for each place by studying some examples that are applicable for each of them. In addition, the researcher compared and contrasted among the viewpoints of recitation academicians related to the judgment of stop at such places. I also clarified the reasons that made it necessary to stop or not to stop. I also shed light on the concept of stop in the Holy Quran, including its categories and its importance in the recitation of the Holy Quran. I also discussed the requirements of compulsory stop and connection including the defects of their abandonment, taking into account their close relations with the disciplines of the Arabic language, especially grammar, interpretation, and recitation. The category and judgment of stop is determined by varied interpretation, grammar, and recitation. In addition, recitation scholars based the determination of stop on the Quranic word, literal or semantic relation between the two sentences. If there is relation, stop is compulsory. By different methods of recitation, the category and judgment of stop differ. Applied examples are given
