Abstract:
This study aims at identifying the process of building standard levels for fitness and other anthropometrical measurements among high Basic stage female students at Jenin Education Directorate. For achieving the study purpose, descriptive surveying method has been used for its suitability to the study objectives by testing 1066 female students from (seventh, eighth and ninth) grades at Jenin Educational Directorate as a study, and thisconstitutes (20%) of the community, sample which was chosen on purpose. 6 tests for measuring the elements of the fitness and 8 anthropometrical measurements have been adopted according to the judgment board . The tests are : throwing the medical ball (Arm muscle strength), wide jumping test (Foot muscle strength), zigzag running test (Readiness), running test (30m) from high start (Velocity ),bending the back forward from the long setting (Flexibility) and Jogging and running 600m (endurance) .The anthropometrical measurements include (arm circumference, the whole arm length, chest circumference, waist circumference, pelvis circumference, the whole foot length and the arm length and the leg length). Data has been gathered, codified, entered the computer and statistically processed by using the Statistical Package of the Social Science (SPSS). The results showed that there is a possibility for building standard levels for fitness and other anthropometrical measurements among high Basic stage female students at Jenin Education Directorate according to the ranks. Also, the results showed that there are significant difference at ( 0.05) in the levels of physical fitness anthropometrical measurements among high Basic stage (seventh, eighth and ninth grades) female students at Jenin Education Directorate due to the variables of the class and place of residence. Decreasing in the level of fitness in all the physical tests among the female students at eighth grade has been appeared compared with those of seventh and ninth grades. Moreover, there are significant differences due to the variable of place of residence. These differences are in (arm circumference, foot length, arm length and leg length). On the other hand, the differences due to the class were for all measurements except for the arm length). According to the study results, several recommendations have been suggested included adopting these levels as Palestinian criteria for evaluating the high basic level at all governmental schools .
