Abstract:
I divided this research into an introduction chapter and four main chapters. In the introduction chapter, I introduced the virtue of asking God's forgiveness, quoting some verses of the Holy Quran and some sayings from the Sunna of the Prophet, I also introduced the judgment of asking God's forgiveness in both meanings: the first: meaning supplication, and the second: meaning repentance. Then, I discussed the best times for asking God's forgiveness most probably granted, and the morals of supplication that a Muslim should be characterized by when asking God's forgiveness. Finally, I indicated the saying of the prophet (the master of asking God's forgiveness) and the main joys derived from it. In the first chapter I discussed the meaning of asking God's forgiveness: in linguistic and in convention, in addition to showing the meaning of idioms related to asking God's forgiveness such as: repentance, atonement, forgiveness, also, I mentioned the relation between asking God's forgiveness and the names of God; and I came to a holy rule: (forgiveness of sins is particular for God), then, I mentioned the main conditions for asking God's forgiveness which are: repentance, regret, straightness, coping heart with tongue, and I completed this chapter mentioning some type of asking God's forgiveness such as asking God's forgiveness for: self, for parents, and for believers. The second chapter is about offences and sins in general, and I discussed some their sections in different consideration, then I discussed the expiration of sins meaning the main reasons for asking God's forgiveness: the good morals, good acts, and others. In the third chapter I discussed important issues such as: the motives of asking God's forgiveness which can urge the human being to ask for God's forgiveness; for example, mentioning death, grave, heaven, hell. In addition, I mentioned some of the benefits of asking God's forgiveness for the individual and the society such as: expiation of sins, entering heavens, and eternal grace. Finally, in the fourth chapter I mentioned live and effective examples of asking Gods' forgiveness of some prophets peace be upon them like asking God's forgiveness of Adam, Moses, and Mohammed peace and praying be upon them to be a good example and to pattern after till the Day of Resurrection
