Textual Analysis: Translators’ Tool

This paper aims at showing ‘discourse analysis’ at work as an indispensible tool in the hands of a translator. An extract of a text is analysed in detail to help the translator arrive at the answers of all the WH questions necessary to be answered in preparation for translating any piece of writing.
