I have laid out in this study the specific guidelines in the Hanafi school of jurisprudence regarding zakat (almsgiving). Specifically, these rules regard taking out the zakat of the salaries of staff workers and the self-employed. I have taken the time to clarify and explain these guidelines and their sources in a concise manner. Then, I applied these rules to specific circumstances relating the subjects of the conference to help elucidate this issue to other researchers and readers.
