With the appearance of the concept of “the durable city” the analysis of the urbanization acquires a greater place within the studies and thinking especially in the Arab World.
Indeed, the increasing urbanization in this part of the world since more than one decade combines with an explosion of a mobility being pressed primarily on the private car, giving rise to a critical deterioration of the environmental conditions.
More recently, the concept of eco-mobility was born in the Western world which has already called into question the private car for several decades.
In this communication, the author proposes to develop this concept in his components associated with the walking, the bicycle, collective transport, or the car pool, before examining his foreseeable impact on the natural environment, social and economic of the Arab cities.
The talk studies finally the applicability of the eco-mobility in the context of the Arab World with its dimensions town-planning, socio-economic and cultural.
