Abstract:
The study aims to identify the relationship between the harmonic behavior and the emotional intelligence among Physical Education students in the Palestinian universities, and the relationship between the two variables (the harmonic behavior and emotional intelligence). It also aims to determine the differences of the harmonic behavior level and the emotional intelligence of the Physical Education students in the Palestinian universities, in regard to gender, academic level, and place of residence. In order to achieve that, the study has been conducted on a sample of (278) students which forms about (34.1%) of the study population. To measure the harmonic behavior, ( Rajab al-Tai and Badrani scale, 2013) has been used , which includes (23) items, and divided into four areas: social, emotional, academic, family. However, to measure the emotional intelligence (Soti scale and others schutte et al, 1998), which consisted of (33) components that distributed into four areas: optimism, social skills, valuation, utilization , has been used. In order to answer the questions of this study , the average, percentage, standard deviation ,Pearson correlation coefficient , variance analysis, and Tioki dimensional comparison test have been used , then the results have showed the followings: - The overall level of the harmonic behavior for Physical Education students in the Palestinian universities was high. It reached the percentage of (77.4%). In fact , the family was one of the best areas of compatibility which had about (85.2%). Then, followed by the social consensus component of about (78.4%),after that, the Emotional compatibility of about (76.2%). Finally the academic compatibility of about (69.6%). - The overall level of emotional intelligence for Physical Education students in the Palestinian universities was high. It has reached the percentage of (76.6%). In fact, the best area was the field of valuation which was about (78%). Then the optimism that has about (77.8%). After that the field of the use which has about ( 77.4%). Finally the social skills have (73.6%). - The significant correlation of the significance level of (α = 0.05), which has been found between the level of emotional intelligence and the level of behavior harmonic for physical education students in the Palestinian universities, has reached (0.46). - The independent variables of this study which are sex, place of residence, and year of study did not affect the harmonic behavior among students. Sex and academic level variables did not affect students’ emotional intelligence, while changing home of residence had an impact on students’ emotional intelligence.
