The influence of the substitute player on performance level amongst Palestinian professional soccer players

Abstract: 
This study aimed at identifying the influence of the substitute player on performance level amongst Palestinian professional soccer players from the perspective of the technical and administrative staff. The researcher employed the descriptive methodology due to its appropriateness to the nature of the research and the hypotheses of the study. The study population consisted of all the trainers, assistant trainers, team administrative staff, physical fitness trainers, and goal-keeper trainers at the professional soccer clubs in Palestine (n. 60) of 12 clubs, based on the records of the Palestinian Soccer Union. The statistical analysis was administered by using the SPSS of the questionnaires (n. 56) which contained response conditions. The study sample consisted of (56) persons working at the technical staff of the Palestinian professional teams. Consequently, the comprehensive exclusive method was used since the whole population was studied. The study findings showed that the influence of the substitute player on the performance level of Palestinian professional soccer players was significantly high at a percentage of (77.59%) of all aspects of substitute player. The findings showed that the highest range of the substitute player influence is the range of the substitute player influence on the team performance at the significantly high percentage of (80.75%), followed in the second place by the substitute player influence on the match result at a percentage of (77.69%), which is considered significant. In the third place, the range of the objective of the substitution process came at a percentage of (77.39%) which is also considered significant. The lowest range was the substitute player influence on the opponent team at the significant percentage of (74.54%). The study findings also showed that the substitute player influence on the performance level of professional players in the Palestinian soccer attributed to the variable of Club order was better at clubs order from (9-12). In addition, the substitute player influence on the performance level of professional players in the Palestinian soccer attributed to the variable of academic qualification was in favor of bachelor degree holders. The substitute player influence on the performance level of professional players in the Palestinian soccer attributed to the variable of experience was in favor of players who have (6-10) experience years. The substitute player influence on the performance level of professional players in the Palestinian soccer attributed to the variable of task was better for team administrators. The researcher recommended that it is important to take care of the substitute player and avoid marginalizing him, promote care of various age categories in order to find suitable substitutes from young players and teams, and highlight both the basic players and substitutes by mass media.
