Abstract:
The aim of this study was to identify the effect of using command and practice styles on some ground movements skills of artistic gymnastics (forward roll، backward roll, handstand, cartwheel, arabian somersault and overall presentation skills ) for female students in the faculty of physical education at an- najah national university. To achieve that, the study was conducted on a purposive sample of (30) female- students, and the sample was divided into equally tow groups: group1 (using command style) and group2 (using practice style). As a tool of the study, a learning program using command and practice styles for some ground movements skills of artistic gymnastics was implemented for (8) weeks with (3) training sessions per week. To collect data, the researcher utilized the experimental approach in its method pre and post tests and (SPSS) was used to analyze data. The results of the study showed statistically significant differences were found at (p ˂ 0.05) in the effect of using command style on learning some ground movements skills of artistic gymnastics for the post-test، where the highest percentage of changes was (71.42%) for cartwheel and the lowest was (67.71%) for arabian somersault. In addition، the results revealed that there were statistically significant differences found at (p ˂ 0.05) in the effect of using practice style on learning some ground movements skills of artistic gymnastics for the post-test, where the highest percentage of changes was (133.3%) for arabian somersault and the lowest was (115.7%) for cartwheel. Also, the results indicated that female students learning by using practice style were better than the others using command style in all of ground movement skills of artistic gymnastic except handstand skill. The researcher recommended several recommendations where the most important were the using of different teaching styles in physical education that contributes to enhance the learning process, and to benefit from this proposed learning program of using command and practice styles in learning process of skills.
