Ramallah in Palestiniain Narratives:Farouk Wadi and mourid bargouthi as models

This research looks at the work of two Palestinian writers Farouk Wadi (The Houses of my Heart) and Mourid Bargouthi (I saw Ramallah) and (I was born here, I was born there) , both of them lived in Palestine for almost 20 years and left it in 1967 to study aboard, after 1967 both of them lost their ability to come back to their homeland and were exiled for nearly 30 years . After Oslo both of them visited Ramallah, this dissertation examines diaspora and imagined place. also it shows how this theme affects the text's structure by approaching the titles, places, time, and language in these texts and finally it shows the role of these texts in reading the writers works (wadis novel and short stories and Barghouthi's poems). The thesisi contains an intredction and five chapters, a scoap for previous stadies and novels about ramallah is intruduce in the intreduction. The first chapter stadied titels and their intertextuaality with arabic littriture and how they summarise the books issues The second one is about space and how it changed throught time, time and how it was used in the books was the main focus in the third chapter. The forth chapter approchers the use of languge in the books and finally the fifth chapter shows the significantce of these books as a main method to understand the litrutue of both writers, the last chapter approaches the self and others in Al-Bargouthi narrations The thesis contains an introduction and six chapters, a scoop for previous studies and novels about Ramallah is introduced in the introduction. The first chapter studied titles and their intertextuality with Arabic literature and how they summarise the books issues. The second one is about space and how it changed through time, time and how it was used in the books was the main focus in the third chapter. the fourth chapter approaches the use of language in the books and the fifth chapter shows the significance of these books as a main method to understand the literature of both writers. The last chapter studies self and others in Al-Bargouthi narrations. In conclusion the titles reflect the books theme , the diaspora and visiting lost places affect the way of writing about places and the structure of time also it affected the language type, the two books are important because they allow the reader to understand the writers work.
