Abstract: 

Purpose: Clarify the suitable age to perform refractive surgery
Background: Refractive disorders are very common among teenagers in any community, and many treatment modalities are suggested to solve such visual problems.
Method: Literature review. The main points that will be presented:
1. Development of the eye & vision
2. Visual problems of teenagers
3. Treatment modalities & prevention
Conclusion: Refractive surgery is like any other surgical procedure, and may be done after complete assessment of the patient’s situation in the proper age and letting him/her understand completely what he/she can gain.
