Abstract: 

The purpose of this study was to identify the emotional response of the first handball division players in Jordan, and to investigate the differences between the top and lower Jordanian teams in the results of the first handball division (2009) in emotional response. (96) players from (8) teams of Jordanian first handball division. The researcher applied emotional response scale to measure the emotional responses of first handball division participated in this study players in Jordan. data analysis indicated that the responses of the first handball division players were middle ranked in all the scale dimensions; also, there were no significant differences between the responses of the top four teams and the lower four teams in all scale dimensions except for the dimension of desire and responsibility. The researcher recommended that the coaches and psychological experts need to concentrate on athletes’ emotional response when they plan psychological programs in short and long terms.
