Constructing norms for selected physical fitness items as an indicator for sport selection among sports superior student at the University of Jordan. The purpose of the current study was to construct norms for physical fitness items (cardio vascular endurance, agility, and explosive power) at the university of Jordan sports superior students for sports proficiency list. The descriptive approach was used. The sample of the study consisted of 530 students (360 males) and 170 females and were chosen purposively among those students during the year of (2006-2008). Physical fitness test battery was used for the purpose of the study and consisted 3 fitness tests (1600 m. run, shuttle run, and standing broad jump). The result revealed a constructing norms for the relevant test battery. It was recommended to use the norms of the test battery to select the superior sports students. The best norms for 1600m run was 5.1 min males .6,3 min females, for the shuttle run test 7.8 min males and min females for the standing broad jump test 2.7m males and 2.1m females.
