This study investigates the method by Pre-Islamic literary heritage was adopted in modern Arabic poetry in Palestine. Through the analysis of wide range of poetic texts written by the Palestinian modern poets, this study seeks to identify how different types of by Pre-Islamic texts are adopted. Quoting Pre-Islamic texts varies in accordance with the talented poets. Mere quotations are the simplest type of adoption, sifting parts of texts and mixing them with modern ones comes second. The ideal adoption is that the concepts of ancient texts are implied in modern literary usages. Such an adoption shows that modern Palestinian poets succeed in achieving a comprehensive blending of Pre-Islamic texts with modern.
